Activity For Kids:

Christmas sensory bin

This Christmas themed sensory bin is one that I created myself from a few ideas I saw online.

It looked gorgeous and my kids loved playing with the shredded paper. It was also much easier to clean up than rice or flour.

This activity is great to teach your kids:

Colour recognition activities helps children get to know the different colors and color blending and matching.

Sensory play is play that involves all the senses - taste, sound, sight, touch and smell. Sensory play is very beneficial to children. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play is also very relaxing and rejuvenating to children.

Step 1

Add green, red and gold or silver shredded paper to the sensory bin

Step 2

Add Christmas ornaments and other festive items to the bin

Step 3

Add cups and tongs to play with to the bin

Step 4

Invite your kids to play

My kids really loved this sensory bin and we'll get it out again closer to Christmas.
