Activities that has a specific outcome like this one is a bit frustrating to me to do with kids since I want it to look a certain way. My tip for you is to let go of preconceived notions of what it should look like and let your kids decorate any way you choose. If you want it to look like reindeer make one yourself and communicate clearly to your kids what you want them to look like.
