Activity For Kids:
Thanksgiving sensory bin
Rice is one of our favorite sensory bin materials. It’s cheap, and you can dye it any color that you like.
In this Thanksgiving bin, the rice is dyed orange, brown and yellow. You can add any extras to the bin such as toy tractors or pumpkins.
This activity is inspired by ideas from Thanksgiving sensory bin.
What you'll learn

Colour recognition activities helps children get to know the different colors and color blending and matching.
Sensory play is play that involves all the senses - taste, sound, sight, touch and smell. Sensory play is very beneficial to children. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play is also very relaxing and rejuvenating to children.

We tried it
This sensory bin started with a bit of drama with my son wanted to cook the Thanksgiving rice bin ingredients in the oven and I wanted to keep the rice in the Sensory bin. I took the bin away and my son threw a tantrum. After he calmed down he asked for the rice and they played happily ever after.
